Supplier Quality Engineer
- Location: North Carolina
- Type of Employment: Full-Time, with 50% travel required, and Hybrid.
About the Role:
- As a Supplier Quality Engineer, your primary responsibility is to ensure the efficient operation of our client's supply chain. You'll play a crucial role in assessing and improving supplier performance, working closely with various stakeholders. Your expertise in engineering and quality systems will be essential for maintaining compliance and driving continuous improvement.
Responsibilities:
- Quality Performance: Ensure that supplier performance meets or exceeds quality objectives.
- Improvement Strategies: Lead improvement initiatives, identify areas for enhancement, and conduct supplier audits.
- Vendor Oversight: Manage designated vendor's performance and relationships through site visits and effective correspondence.
- Product Design Review: Evaluate and approve new product designs and design modifications via First Article Review.
- On-Site Audits: Conduct quality system and process audits of suppliers at their facilities.
- Inspection Schedules: Create and manage inspection schedules to monitor supplier output.
- Problem Solving: Address quality-related challenges by collaborating across functional boundaries.
- Supplier Guidance: Provide guidance to suppliers in high-quality problem-solving exercises.
- Commodity Expertise: Become an authority in a specific category of commodities.
- KPI Monitoring: Continuously monitor, share, and enhance supplier Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
Qualifications:
- To excel in this role, you should possess the following qualifications:
- Proficiency with measuring tools and first-article process expertise.
- Excellent presentation and communication skills.
- Experience with ERP systems, ideally with Oracle EBS.
- Outstanding interpersonal, problem-solving, and facilitation abilities.
- A bachelor's degree in electronics, mechanical/manufacturing engineering, or materials science.
