Quality Manager
Overview
Our client, a global leader in the heavy manufacturing sector, is seeking a Quality Control Manager to lead all inspection, verification, and product conformance activities within an ISO-certified environment. This individual will oversee daily quality operations, drive customer and supplier quality performance, and build a high-performing team.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead incoming, in-process, and final inspection activities across the facility
- Develop and maintain inspection plans, test methods, and calibration systems
- Ensure compliance with customer requirements, engineering drawings, and applicable quality standards
- Supervise and develop a team of quality supervisors, engineers, technicians, and inspectors
- Oversee First Article Inspections and ensure measurement system accuracy
- Partner with customers and suppliers to resolve quality issues and drive corrective actions
- Support new product introduction (NPI), including inspection criteria and PPAP elements
- Lead internal and external audits and ensure timely closure of findings
- Analyze quality data to identify risks and drive continuous improvement initiatives
- Oversee special manufacturing processes such as welding, coating, or assembly
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- 5+ years of quality leadership experience within a manufacturing environment
- Strong knowledge of ISO 9001 (AS9100 preferred), inspection methods, and metrology
- Experience with SPC, gaging, calibration systems, and quality tools
- Six Sigma Green Belt required; Black Belt preferred
- Background in metal fabrication, machining, or assembly environments preferred
