Vice President of Procurement
Our client is seeking a dynamic and strategic VP of Procurement to lead sourcing and procurement initiatives for food & beverage products and packaging materials. This role will oversee supplier relationships, cost optimization, and quality assurance to ensure operational excellence and alignment with sustainability goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Leadership: Develop and execute procurement strategies for food & beverage ingredients and packaging materials across multiple business units.
- Supplier Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with global and regional suppliers, ensuring compliance with quality, safety, and sustainability standards.
- Cost Optimization: Drive cost savings through contract negotiations, supplier consolidation, and value engineering initiatives.
- Risk Management: Implement contingency plans to mitigate supply chain disruptions and ensure continuity of critical materials.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with operations, R&D, and finance teams to align procurement strategies with product innovation and business objectives.
- Data-Driven Decision Making: Utilize analytics and market intelligence to forecast trends, manage budgets, and optimize procurement performance.
- Sustainability Focus: Ensure sourcing practices align with ESG goals, including sustainable packaging and responsible ingredient sourcing.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, or related field (MBA preferred).
- 10+ years of procurement experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership role within food & beverage and packaging.
- Proven track record of delivering multi-million-dollar cost savings and improving supplier performance.
- Strong negotiation skills and experience managing global supplier networks.
- Familiarity with food safety regulations, packaging compliance, and sustainability initiatives.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with ERP systems and procurement analytics tools.
- Knowledge of packaging innovation and sustainable materials.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, remote environment.
