Key Responsibilities
- PCB Design: Create detailed layouts from schematics, ensuring optimal component placement and routing.
- Documentation: Generate manufacturing files (Gerber, drill files, BOM, assembly drawings).
- Compliance: Perform design rule checks for DFM/DFA/DFT and industry standards.
- Collaboration: Work closely with electrical, mechanical, and manufacturing teams.
- Library Management: Maintain schematic symbols and PCB footprints.
- Prototyping: Support builds, troubleshoot issues, and implement design adjustments.
- Ordering: Procure blank boards and parts for prototypes.
- Assembly & Testing: Hand solder SMT and through-hole components, program boards, and conduct tests.
- BOM Management: Create and update BOMs for prototypes and production.
- Software Maintenance: Keep PCB design software and libraries updated.
- Lab Organization: Maintain a clean and organized workspace.
- Compliance Testing: Prepare units for certification testing (e.g., UL, TUV).
- Troubleshooting: Assist with electrical issues and customer support.
- Root Cause Analysis: Investigate field failures and returns.
- Manufacturer Coordination: Ensure products meet latest revisions.
Qualifications
- AS or BS in Electrical Engineering with 1-2 years of relevant experience.
- Experience in electromechanical product design and troubleshooting is a plus.
- Proficiency with electronics lab equipment (oscilloscope, signal generator, power supply, etc.).
- Ability to test, debug prototypes, and document results.
- Hands-on experience with PCB CAD software (DipTrace preferred) and Microsoft Office.
- Familiarity with approval agencies and PCBA test methodologies.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to build test fixtures.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
