As part of its strategic growth, the company is investing in the Pharma and Life Sciences vertical, with a focus on temperature-controlled (reefer) logistics. This is a high-priority initiative with strong executive backing and significant resources allocated to ensure success.
Role Overview
We are seeking a hands-on, entrepreneurial Business Development Manager to spearhead the growth of the Pharma and Reefer vertical across Italy. This is a unique opportunity to join a high-performing organisation at a pivotal moment, with the chance to shape and lead a new vertical from the ground up.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a go-to-market strategy for the Pharma and Reefer vertical in Italy.
- Identify, target, and on board new clients in the pharmaceutical, blotch, and life sciences sectors.
- Build and nurture long-term relationships with key stakeholders and decision-makers.
- Collaborate with internal teams (operations, compliance, product, and marketing) to deliver tailored logistics solutions.
- Monitor market trends, customer needs, and regulatory developments to inform strategy.
- Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and client meetings.
- Report directly to senior leadership with regular updates on pipeline, performance, and opportunities.
- Contribute to the long-term vision of the vertical, with a clear pathway to become Product Head or Head of Vertical.
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of experience in the pharmaceutical and/or reefer logistics sector.
- At least 5 years in a commercial role within freight forwarding.
- Proven track record of business development and client acquisition.
- Deep understanding of GDP compliance, cold chain logistics, and pharma supply chain requirements.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Self-starter with a proactive, hands-on approach and entrepreneurial mindset.
- Willingness to travel across Italy and occasionally internationally.
