Director, Food Safety & Quality
A leading, innovative food manufacturer in the Greensboro, NC area is seeking a strategic and hands-on leader to oversee Food Safety & Quality programs across multiple manufacturing sites. This role is critical to ensuring compliance with FDA, USDA, GFSI standards, and driving a culture of food safety throughout the organization. The ideal candidate will combine technical expertise with strong leadership skills, influencing cross-functional teams and shaping the future of our quality systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and maintain food safety and quality systems aligned with regulatory and customer requirements.
- Lead audit readiness and certification programs (SQF, BRC, ISO).
- Partner with Operations, R&D, and Supply Chain to ensure quality standards are embedded in all processes.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to reduce risk and enhance product integrity.
- Mentor and develop a high-performing FSQA team across multiple sites.
- Serve as the primary liaison for regulatory agencies and major customers on quality matters.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Microbiology, or related field (Master's preferred).
- 10+ years of progressive experience in Food Safety & Quality within food manufacturing.
- Proven leadership experience at the Sr. Manager or Director level.
- Previous multi-site experience (manging 5+ facilities).
- Expertise in GFSI schemes, HACCP, PCQI, and regulatory compliance.
- Strong communication and influencing skills; ability to lead cross-functional initiatives.
- Certification in food safety (e.g., HACCP, PCQI).
