Engineering Project Manager
Overview
We are seeking a Project Manager - Product Development to lead and oversee product design and development initiatives. This role ensures projects are executed successfully to align with both short-term and long-term strategic objectives. The position involves managing feasibility studies, creating detailed project plans and budgets, conducting risk assessments, and resolving issues that could impact project success.
Responsibilities
- Deliver projects on time and within budget using a structured stage-gate process.
- Ensure alignment of project deliverables with marketing and product strategy teams.
- Direct and coordinate cross-functional teams, including engineers, designers, and technical staff.
- Develop comprehensive project plans, schedules, milestones, and deadlines based on resource availability.
- Identify risks and conflicts, create contingency plans, and escalate critical issues when necessary.
- Manage internal and external resources to achieve project objectives.
- Secure resource support from functional leaders and maintain stakeholder engagement.
- Provide regular updates, strategic reviews, and detailed reports on project status to senior management.
Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in product management or related roles.
Skills & Attributes
- Proven experience managing new product development projects from concept to completion.
- Bachground in HVAC, heating system or pumps.
- Strong knowledge of project management methodologies and software tools.
- Ability to resolve team conflicts and foster collaboration.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and facilitation skills, including experience interacting with senior leadership.
- Skilled at prioritizing multiple projects and meeting deadlines.
- Background in managing technical, manufactured products.
- Understanding of mechanical systems.
- PMP certification preferred.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and willingness to travel occasionally.
