Maintenance Manager

Role Overview

The Maintenance Manager, reporting to the General Manager, oversees the maintenance and repair of all production equipment, utilities, buildings, and grounds. This role ensures operations are efficient, cost-effective, and aligned with company goals.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead maintenance operations, focusing on cost savings, process improvements, and energy efficiency.

  • Drive continuous improvement and preventive maintenance initiatives.

  • Deliver timely, cost-effective maintenance support through a team of salaried and hourly staff.

  • Ensure reliable delivery of plant utilities: power, fuel, water, compressed air, HVAC, refrigeration, and wastewater systems.

  • Provide engineering support for capital projects, new installations, and system upgrades.

  • Identify operational bottlenecks and recommend innovative solutions.

  • Collaborate cross-functionally to improve quality and productivity.

  • Manage CMMS (MainSaver) to enhance maintenance planning, tracking, and inventory control.

  • Promote and model safety, food safety, and security practices.

  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, environmental regulations, and insurance requirements.


Requirements

  • 10+ years in maintenance/engineering management, preferably in food processing.

  • Proven leadership and team engagement abilities.

  • Strong problem-solving, planning, and communication skills.

  • Expertise in maintenance best practices and food processing equipment.

  • In-depth knowledge of:

    • Fluid power (pneumatics & hydraulics), industrial electrical systems, HVAC, refrigeration, plant layout, and building design.

    • Public utilities and service contracts.

  • Proficient with CMMS systems.

  • Familiar with food safety standards and regulatory compliance (OSHA, environmental)
