Production Manager
Our client is a well-established food manufacturer that is looking for a Production Manager to support the continued scaling of operations at a facility in the Greenville-Spartanburg, SC area. This role provides manufacturing leadership to ensure high-quality products, support operational excellence, and foster a high-performing team culture. The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership, a passion for productivity and continuous improvement, and a commitment to safety and quality.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and develop production teams to promote a positive, accountable, and continuous improvement-driven culture.
- Ensure daily production meets safety, quality, and productivity standards.
- Oversee production scheduling, resource allocation, and workflow optimization.
- Coordinate with quality, maintenance, engineering, purchasing, and scheduling to maximize efficiency.
- Monitor and report key performance indicators; identify trends and implement improvements.
- Ensure compliance with GMPs, food safety programs, regulatory requirements, and internal policies.
- Conduct and support root‑cause analyses for deviations, customer complaints, and process failures.
- Oversee training programs for production and sanitation teams.
- Support sanitation operations and ensure compliance with cleaning and regulatory standards.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on cost savings, quality, and operational excellence.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Food Science, Engineering, Biology or related field
- 8+ years of experience in a food manufacturing environment (of which at least 5 years are in a leadership/management level) is a MUST
- Experience with continuous improvement tools such as Lean, Six Sigma, 5S, or Kaizen preferred.
- Strong communication, leadership, and conflict‑resolution skills.
- Ability to interpret data, analyze trends, and drive performance improvements.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work in a fast‑paced production setting.
- Flexibility to work off-shifts, weekends, or holidays as needed.
- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to motivate teams.
