A leading industrial technology company are looking to for a category manager for embedded software procurement to join their growing team. The company are currently going through a transformation in their procurement department as they are experiencing high demand for their products. They are a German manufacturing company operating across multiple industries such as automotive and manufacturing.
The ideal candidate for this role would have several years' experience purchasing software for embedded devises and systems.
Responsibilities:
- You will take full responsibility of software sourcing and purchase the relevant embedded software for electronics
- Maintain current supplier relationships and expand the portfolio through cross functional coordination
- You will be working internationally with over 130+ suppliers across Europe and Asia to manage all sourcing and procurement activities
- Responsible for the procurement and acquisition to development services and software
- Conduct supplier negotiations to generate cost savings
- Optimise current sourcing processes
- Negotiate both developmental and project specific contracts
- Analyse, evaluate and execute supplier performance tracking and service evaluation
- Analyse project requirements to determine the appropriate and correct software requirements for embedded electronics
- Create, design and implement systematic purchasing strategies
- Conduct an analysis and create offer analysis reports and conduct supplier selection activities for the assigned categories
- Conduct supplier nomination activities and contract management
Your profile:
- Fluent English and B2 German
- 5 years' professional experience in purchasing - preferably in the automotive/manufacturing/IT industry
- Successfully completed commercial or technical training (comparable)
- Experience and knowledge handling IT systems such as MS Office / SAP etc and automotive embedded software
- Willingness to travel 50-60%
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
