Director - Automated Equipment Execution

Our client, a leading logistics organization, is looking for a Director - Automated Equipment Execution to lead multiple work streams via global deployment of highly-automated material handling systems. The ideal candidate has broad oversight of delivering projects and ensuring the key deliverables have the end-mind perspective, including: testing, operationalized, systems delivery and interfacing between internal stakeholders (PMO, Operations, Maintenance, Safety, IT, IE/BPO, etc.) and the external automated systems contractor (inclusive of their subcontractors and suppliers).
This is a newly created role on the team due to organizational growth. The ideal candidate again will have a warehouse systems execution background and skillset, and will also have experience working cross-functionally with groups in a high paced setting.
The Director - Automated Equipment Execution will:
- Serve as the organization's lead on this project, while being supported by a team of internal and contract resources, during the automated systems deployment process to enable successful transition to the operations and maintenance teams
- Manage automation leads through integrated engineering, scheduling, installation oversight, commissioning, and acceptance testing
- Communicate plan progress to team members, stakeholders, and executive team members
- Manage a team of 4-5 direct reports
- Document all rationale for design changes and decisions
The ideal Director - Automated Equipment Execution has the following qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or related field
- 10+ years of demonstrated Project Management & Implementation experience in the fields of complex warehouse automation, operations and/or logistics required
- Operations or Engineering management experience
- Ability to use AutoCAD and/or Revit and read engineering drawings for buildings and systems
