Position Overview: The Director of Key Accounts for Health-care will play a pivotal role in defining and executing the strategic vision for the Health-care industry vertical within the United States. The primary objective of this position is to drive profitable growth within the industry while dedicating up to 20% of their time to manage an existing key client. The Director will be instrumental in generating new business within target markets, focusing on value-added logistics, warehousing, distribution to hospitals and labs, field inventory management, and end-to-end supply chain solutions.
Responsibilities:
- Define the strategic direction for the Health-care business unit, aligning with senior management to establish sales targets and marketing strategies.
- Lead the growth of the business unit and oversee the management of existing accounts, including ensuring account profitability.
- Engage in contract negotiations, pricing discussions, RFQ responses, and client engagement meetings.
- Provide support in managing customer escalations when necessary.
- Mentor, coach, and guide the team, offering feedback and direction on a daily basis.
- Lead account managers and their teams to ensure smooth daily operations, establish necessary structures and processes, and achieve financial objectives and SLAs.
- Foster seamless collaboration among internal departments (Service Delivery, IT, controlling, customs/trade, transport, etc.) to facilitate successful implementation and operation of agreed business scope.
- Collaborate closely with Operations in alignment with company goals.
- Proficiently communicate in English.
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, Economics, Business, or equivalent work experience.
- Preferred: Advanced degree (MBA, M.S., MD, or PH.D.).
- Proven track record with a minimum of 5 years in business and P&L ownership.
- Demonstrated sales experience in the health-care industry.
- Strong understanding of 3PL (third-party logistics) operations.
- Comprehensive knowledge of End-to-End Supply Chain (transportation, warehouse/distribution, ERP, logistics software, customer relations & compliance, budget management).
- Exceptional leadership skills and the ability to lead and inspire a team.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Previous experience in managing large teams.
- Familiarity with working within a global matrix structure.
