A fast growing Consumer Goods business is looking to hire a new Director of Logistics to join the Supply Chain leadership team and help propel the business to the next level. The successful candidate will have an exciting mix of both strategic and operational responsibilities, and be tasked with overseeing the company's Distribution, Operations, Logistics, Transportation and Planning functions. The individual will manage a team of direct reports and significantly help drive best practice and cost saving initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage, coach and develop a team of 4 to 5 direct reports
- Pioneer a Logistics strategy to achieve short, medium, and long term company goals
- Lead operations for warehousing and transportation functions (to include in bound freight as well as manufacturing transfers)
- Provide insight and leadership to Supply Chain stakeholders around manufacturing sites, distribution centers, sources of supply and suppliers and trucking routes
- Managing and evaluating key resources at each manufacturing & distribution location, including raw material handlers, warehouse operations, production schedulers
- Act as key liaison with customers, shipping firms and suppliers concerning material/product flows
The successful candidate will ideally have:
- Bachelor's degree (ideally in an analytical subject)
- 8+ years Logistics, Distribution & Planning experience
- Proven experience with managing 3rd party Transportation
- Strong leader with good examples of improving Distribution performance
- Extensive cost saving accomplishments
