Our client, a leading player in the Machinery sector, is currently seeking a Director of Procurement to join their team in Vienna. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the procurement function, ensuring that the company's procurement strategy is aligned with business objectives and that procurement activities are conducted in a compliant, efficient, and effective manner.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement procurement strategies that support the company's business objectives
- Direct and manage the procurement function, ensuring that procurement activities are conducted in a compliant, efficient, and effective manner
- Develop and maintain relationships with key suppliers, negotiating contracts and agreements that deliver value for money
- Develop and maintain a robust supplier performance management system, ensuring that suppliers are meeting their contractual obligations
- Monitor market trends and developments, identifying opportunities to improve procurement processes and practices
- Manage the procurement budget, ensuring that procurement activities are conducted within budgetary constraints
- Provide leadership, guidance, and support to the procurement team, ensuring that team members are motivated, engaged, and performing to the best of their abilities
- Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation, regulations, and company policies and procedures
Mandatory Skills:
- Strong knowledge of procurement processes and practices
- Experience in the Heavy Industrial Sector
