A growing, successful consumer goods business is looking to recruit a Distribution Center Manager to run a large facility in the Greater Harrisburg Area and help the business continue their patterns of both excellent service to customers, plus growth through acquisition (for the past 3 years they have acquired a new business each year!) This role in essence controls and directs all aspects of the Distribution Center to optimize performance and help take the business to the next level.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and direct a team of multiple direct reports, 250+ hourly staff and provide leadership for the facility
- Develop, promote and maintain a culture that promotes recognition, employee inclusion, and effective communication
- Manage strategies for future growth, improve quality and reduce operating costs
- Pioneer new operating procedures in distribution to foster continuous process improvement and world-class logistics
- Act as a key management staff member participating in numerous cross-functional and or cross-facility improvement initiatives
- Deploy corporate company-wide values and objectives across distribution and logistics department to ensure alignment with the business mission
The successful candidate will ideally have:
- Bachelor's degree (ideally in an analytical subject)
- 7+ years Distribution Management experience within a fast-paced environment
- Proven experience with reducing operational costs
- Strong team and individual management turnaround experience
