General Manager needed for a Leading Aerospace/Defense Company

A leading manufacturer of highly engineered parts for the industry's leading aerospace and defense products is seeking a General Manager in one of their key facilities in Arizona. The General Manager is tasked with overseeing all aspects of manufacturing component parts within this aerospace facility supporting precision hydraulic and components and assemblies. The General Manager will work in collaboration with a range of products to ensure the highest levels of safety, quality, productivity, and environmental safety in the manufacturing facility.
Responsibilities for the General Manager include:
- Responsible for all site operations including safety, continuous improvement, manufacturing, quality, engineering, account management, material management, and production planning
- Oversee full range of direct and indirect functions of the business through a team of functional managers and supervisors
- Provides ongoing leadership in the development and refinement of the business strategy and strategic plan
- Establish goals for Operations and all supporting functions and ensure they are implemented
- Responsible for the overall business performance.
- Work with a P&L budget
- Ensure GMP standards are met
- Develops and implements performance indicators (KPIs) to continually improve the efficiency and productivity of the manufacturing operations
- Provide and maintain a safe work environment by directing safety training, generating, and reviewing Standard Operating Procedures (SOP)
Ideal of Qualifications for the General Manager include:
- Bachelor's degree required
- Bachelor's degree in a technical field preferred
- M.B.A. or post graduate degree highly preferred
- 10+ years' experience in a manufacturing environment
- Manufacturing experience in aerospace, automotive or component part manufacturing strongly preferred
- Prior experience working in a highly regulated industry in a manufacturing facility
- Experience leading a team of 100+ employees highly preferred
- Proven experience collaborating with quality, safety, and OSHA/ Lean Manufacturing standards
- LEAN Six Sigma certifications a plus
- Prior experience working with P&L budget
- Experience in the aerospace industry is strongly preferred
- Individual who is strategic and analytical, and a results-oriented leader
