The global market leader in Survival Technology are seeking an Indirect Procurement Manager to join their team in Finsbury, London. Their technology and products protect lives in the air, on land and at sea, protecting over 1 million people every day in 96 countries.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build Categories Strategies to ensure continuous improvement in QCDIS
- Understand Business requirements by engaging with the stakeholders per commodity, on all levels of the business.
- Implement process and procedures that provide a framework for the business when purchasing on a national and international basis
- Build Savings plans working on Total Cost by unit price reduction and consumption reduction
- Lead negotiations on strategically significant contracts and negotiation and management of third-party service providers.
- Engage support and agreement for the strategy from key stakeholders so that implementation and compliance are optimal; promote the effective management of suppliers to sustain value throughout the life of the contract
- Delivery of savings/benefits against Category Plan and joint delivery of overall Central Procurement savings target
- Governance activities delivered to agreed targets and plans
- Ensure formalised contracts, with negotiated prices, costs, payment terms, service level agreements, termination clauses and other T&Cs are in place for all Suppliers
GROUP HQ INDIRECTS (approx. 50Mยฃ, approx. 40 Suppliers)
- Manage directly the Group Indirect Spend requirement and the required suppliers together with strong stake-holder collaboration and buy-in (IT, HR. Legal, Finance etc)
LOCAL SITES INDIRECTS (approx. 30Mยฃ, Suppliers TBD - some thousands)
- Devise communicate and coordinate a category management approach, deploying the methodology across the group for the sites local personnel to implement with support and effective oversight
- Ensure control of all business and contract awards including that they are with formally established preferred suppliers, and the awards themselves are leveraged to improve any existing business conditions
- Analysis of Spend data to understand compliance to Category Strategy and communicated standards for any delinquent sites for corrective action
- Identify savings and efficiency improvements across the business, including development of global, regional or local suppliers depending on the supplier market and in function of the Category Strategy
Qualifications & Requirements
* Degree Educated in a pertinent subject
* Experience of having worked in a multi-site, multi-country International Group of companies, at corporate level, preferably in an Industrial context
* Experience in creating and managing Categories and Category Strategies for a broad range of Indirect Spend area
* Strong computer skills (particular emphasis on Microsoft Excel, Word & PowerPoint)
* The ability to present complex information in clear, concise visual format
* Results orientated, excellent analytical, process and problem-solving skills
* Team player with initiative and a positive attitude
* A leader able to convince and motivate
* Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with all levels of the organisation
* Strong ability to effectively manage in a matrix organisational structure working with multiple internal stakeholders
* English is a must, another European language is a plus
