The Procurement Category Manager - Supply Chain is responsible forโฆ
- Execute strategic sourcing strategies and initiatives that support improvements in vendor quality, total cost-effectiveness, enhanced service levels, improved coordination, delivery, pricing, lead times, payment, risk compliance, and other areas
- Develop and execute RFI's and RFP's, document bid events through correspondence to vendors; develop selection criteria and drives the selection of vendors in collaboration with other supply chain teams; conduct vendor negotiations and ongoing vendor management
- Consistently seek ways to streamline business processes, research and provide information on category trends and best practices
- Provide input to maximize procurement leverage, minimize project duration and cost, and optimize project design
- Establish negotiation strategies, lead cross-functional negotiation category-based teams, gain alignment from stakeholders and implement appropriate vendor risk analysis
- Use accurate spend information and business knowledge to identify sourcing projects for individual subcategories and develop an overall cost reduction plan
- Delegate analytic tasks to key support functions and synthesize results
- Develop vendor scorecards to measure vendor performance against key performance indicators
- Analyze and track annual performance metrics and sourcing trends against budget on a monthly basis to demonstrate continuous improvement and progress against strategic objectives
- Act as the internal point of contact for vendor management and complaint resolution by conducting regular meetings and implement improvement strategies with vendors
- Secure spend portfolio for reoccurring managed to spend is balanced through coordinated sourcing waves and leveraged with capital project sourcing activities
- Lead cross-functional strategic sourcing teams to develop and implement category/commodity strategies and to drive cost from individual spend subcategories
The Procurement Category Manager - Supply Chain should have the following qualifications:
- 7+ years of logistics, transportation, contract manufacturing and warehousing
- Great communications skills and be able to interact with other Procurement/Supply Chain teams
- Leadership skills
