Production Manager
Richmond, Virginia
The Production Manager will be responsible for the overall day-to-day activities within the business to include:
- Safety, production, maintenance and quality of all products
- Serve as the leader and catalyst for teaching, training, and implementing Lean and Operational Excellence principles, tools, and techniques within the manufacturing organization
- Directly, and through delegation, manages production operations to ensure cost effectiveness, efficiency and consistency with all performance measurements within the organization
- Interact and coordinate cross-functionally across the enterprise to ensure quality communication and efficiency
- Commit to excellence in OSHE and Quality to protect and promote the health, safety, and efficiency of all employees
Key Accountabilities:
- Oversight of all production operations including safety, quality, maintenance of equipment, and continuous improvement
- Build and maintain the foundation for continuous improvement by ensuring the effective functioning of transformation activities aligned to a Lean Operating System
- Create strategic plans to support the long-term profitable growth of the business
- Put metrics in place that have a positive impact on the organization that drives improvements and accountability
- Manage plant assets associated with improving cost, quality, delivery, and productivity
- Deploy plant processes and systems to ensure world class manufacturing processes are achieved
- Drive results meeting Annual Operating Plan budgets and demand
- Develop and drive hands on safety culture
- Help shape a company culture centered around continuous improvement in the pursuit of Operational Excellence
Position Requirements:
- Bachelor or Master's Degree in Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, or Business Management
- Strong working knowledge of quality systems
- Strong track record of successfully running and leading projects within a Manufacturing organization
- Prior leadership, strategy development (general business and specific improvements strategy), and broad business acumen
- Detail oriented with a strong financial acumen and ability to drive to metrics
