Title: Purchasing Manager
Company Summary: A leading supplier of industrial and high performance door systems is looking to hire a Purchasing Manager in their Lawrence, Kansas manufacturing facility.
The Purchasing Manager will be responsible for:
- Training and leading a team of direct reports
- Working cross functionally with other areas in the business
- Negotiating pricing and delivery for purchased items
- Assuring records and payment is maintained and discrepancies are resolved in timely manner
- Performing reviews with suppliers and insuring report cards are maintained
- Establishing key KPI metrics
- Maintaining proper purchasing practices are maintained by department staff
The Purchasing Manger should have the following qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in technical, supply chain, engineering, or finance discipline
- 5 years' experience in manufacturing and purchasing
- Management experience leading a team/ people skills
- Experience with either of the following commodities: coiled steel, spring wire, aluminum, glass, chemicals
- Proficient in Excel, Project, Power Point, Word, ERP systems, Oracle Enterprise One System
- Experience in Six Sigma or Lean is preferred
- Exceptional communication, leadership and project management skills
