Underneath the direction of plant management, the Safety Specialist develops hands-on implications of safety programs and projects. Ensure all safety procedures, awareness, and training aligns with Enterprise Safety objectives. Achieve continuous improvement goals to reduce costs and work-related injuries.

Responsibilities:
- Assists in the development of safety programs to achieve compliance with federal, state, and local regulations
- Coordinates site specific safety training and testing such as inspections, audits, and investigations
- Works alongside site project leads to conduct safety assessments for equipment and processes
- Creates detailed safety procedures as needed
- Conducts assessments to identify risk factors within the site
- Participates and coordinates site safety committee
- Maintains site safety records and data in accordance with guidelines
Qualifications:
- Minimum of Bachelor's degree in Safety Engineering or related discipline
- 2+ years of safety-related experience (construction and/or manufacturing preferred)
- Knowledge of government regulations concerning EHS
- Knowledge of relevant equipment safety standards
