Company Summary: An Energy and Utilities organization is currently seeking a driven, self-motivated, and innovative Senior Buyer. You would be responsible for supporting strategic sourcing and procurement activities within the US Procurement team. The ideal candidate should have experience in strategic procurement, category management, supplier relationship management, commercial negotiations, procurement process management and development, and market supplier development. The Senior Buyer will be responsible for:
- Working with Stakeholders to establish clear business needs, apply forward-thinking skills to set long term category strategies
- Ability to proactively identify how business needs may be met through alternative country sourcing
- Solid understanding if contract terms and ability to craft terms with legal and management support
- Establishes a negotiation plan with clarity of desired outcomes, leveraging specialist support
- Understanding sourcing processes, able to implement more than one option: RFX, e-sourcing or pooling
- Understanding of various ERP systems (Oracle, SAP, Spend Analytics)
- Evaluating and applying the concept of total cost of ownership to Market and Supplier Development
- Strong understanding of supplier landscape, risk, and benefit
The Senior Buyer should have the following qualifications:
- BS/BA preferred with a concentration in a related field
- 3+ years of experience in strategic sourcing and category management
- Proficient in planning, collaboration, analysis, etc.
- Strong understanding of supplier landscape, risk, and benefits
- Strong understanding of procurement
- Strong communication skills and attention to detail
