Sr. Functional Safety Engineer Needed for a LiDAR Startup

A startup who is rapidly beginning to take over the LiDAR industry in the Bay area is looking for a specific talent to join their team to build out and lead the Functional Safety Team. This individual would be the first Functional Safety Individual onboard and will be responsible for establishing processes and protocols, as well as hiring and growing the FS Team.

The Senior Functional Safety Engineer would be responsible for:
- Contributing to the development of LiDAR system and subsystem requirements and specs to meet the safety requirements defined by OEM
- Team up with design engineers and Tier-1 suppliers in order to build the overall safety case for the LiDAR sensors
- Lead and support internal and external ISO 26262 efforts
- Implement detailed systems reliability analyses
- Write detailed safety requirements, including hardware and software requirements
The Senior Functional Safety Engineer should have the following qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in engineering w/ 5+ years of experience in related field
- Knowledge of ISO 26262
- Familiarity with automotive mechanical, electrical and SW system architectures (e.g., ADAS systems)
- Knowledge and execution of review and release of functional safety content
- Experience working with Autonomous Vehicles or other autonomous systems and sensors
