Supply Chain Manager needed for a leading Manufacturer

An international manufacturing company that creates spectrometers for important industries such as medical devices and technology, working on R&D and manufacturing with massive companies such as 3M, Samsung, and Merck is looking for a Supply Chain manager to join their team in the Long Island facility. They have a respected reputation as an international partner in spectroscopy.
The Supply Chain Manager will play an integral role by communicating to senior leadership and will report directly into the COO. They will also be coordinating with production in order to find and take advantages of the shortages in the market and reduce costs in any way possible.
The Supply Chain Manager will have the following responsibilities:
- Develop the company's supply chain strategy.
- Build and maintain relationships with vendors across the globe.
- Forecast the demand to prevent shortages.
- Work with customers including Samsung, 3M, and Philips to review purchasing orders and maximize performance.
- Monitor team and personal KPI levels to ensure you are achieving accurate inventory levels, turnover, and efficient delivery.
- Implement risk mitigation plans to ensure the end-to-end supply chain runs smoothly and avoid shortages caused by the market.
- Utilize many different systems, some of which are customer driven.
- Train and develop employees by teaching best practices within the planning organization.
- Lead cross-functional teams to prevent and solve demand related issues caused by errors or other unexpected situations.
- Maximize warehouse efficiency by implementing practical methods, approaches, and solutions.
- Adjust the supplier base and vendors through continued analysis.
The ideal candidate will have the following skill set:
- Bachelor's Degree
- 5+ years of experience preferably within the medical device, technical engineering, or electronics industry.
- Experience working with an ERP software such as Oracle, SAP, Microsoft Dynamics, Business Suite, etc.
- Strong knowledge of the supply chain process from end-to-end.
- Ability to lead and positively influence direct reports, peers, and others through out the business.
