Technical Design Manager - Fashion /Intimate /Swimwear
About the Role:
We are looking for a highly skilled and detail-oriented Technical Design Manager to lead the technical development of our intimates, swimwear, and sleepwear categories. This role is pivotal in ensuring our products meet the highest standards of fit, function, and quality, while aligning with brand aesthetics and consumer expectations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the technical design process from concept through production for intimate apparel, swimwear, and sleepwear.
- Collaborate closely with Design, Merchandising, and Product Development teams to translate creative vision into technically sound products.
- Own fit sessions and provide clear direction to pattern makers and vendors to achieve consistent fit and construction standards.
- Develop and maintain technical packages (tech packs), including detailed specifications, construction methods, and grading rules.
- Partner with QA and sourcing teams to resolve technical issues and ensure compliance with quality standards.
- Drive innovation in materials, construction techniques, and fit solutions tailored to the product categories.
- Manage and mentor a team of technical designers, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
Qualifications:
- Degree in Fashion Design, Technical Design, or a related field.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in technical design, with a strong focus on intimates, swimwear, and/or sleepwear.
- Deep understanding of garment construction, pattern making, and grading.
- Proven experience working with offshore vendors and factories, especially in Asia.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills with a collaborative mindset.
- Proficiency in technical design software (e.g., Adobe Illustrator, PLM systems, 3D fitting tools).
- Fluent in English and Chinese including Mandarin
