Business Development Manager

Position Overview
We are seeking a Business Development Manager (BDM) to drive growth in our North American operations. This role focuses on developing new business opportunities, managing key client relationships, and aligning commercial strategies with operational capabilities. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in freight forwarding and logistics solutions, combined with exceptional communication and negotiation skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Client Engagement & Relationship Management
- Serve as the primary point of contact for key accounts.
- Negotiate contracts and manage service agreements.
- Build trust and foster long-term client loyalty through tailored solutions.
- Business Development
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities in warehousing, transloading, and multimodal transportation.
- Develop strategies to onboard new clients and expand existing relationships.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with operations, pricing, and customer service teams to ensure seamless execution.
- Provide feedback on pricing models and operational improvements.
- Performance Monitoring & Reporting
- Track sales performance, market trends, and competitor activity.
- Deliver reports and forecasts to senior leadership for strategic planning.
- Industry Expertise & Innovation
- Stay informed on renewable energy logistics trends and emerging technologies.
- Champion process improvements and contribute to commercial excellence.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in freight forwarding (specifically air and ocean)
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills (written and verbal).
- Ability to work independently and stay motivated in a self-directed role.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, or related field preferred.
