About the Role

This role is responsible for managing and leading suppliers for assigned programs (including BOM Management) and/or designated commodities/vendors. The position is accountable for supplier performance, cost reduction, and continuous improvement in inventory, on-time delivery, quality, and lead-time flexibility to meet operational goals and annual objectives.

What You'll Do

  • Lead supplier selection, RFQ/RFP processes, and negotiate cost, delivery schedules, and inventory management strategies.
  • Manage supplier performance through purchase order execution, change management, and updates to meet operational and customer expectations.
  • Own procurement activities within assigned commodity areas or programs, ensuring cost, delivery, and quality requirements are met.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (planning, operations, quality, engineering, program management) to hold suppliers accountable for performance standards.
  • Utilize ERP/MRP systems to identify material risks and implement mitigation strategies.
  • Conduct quarterly supplier scorecard reviews and develop improvement plans.
  • Review daily MRP exception messages and purchase order status reports; take corrective actions as needed.
  • Identify alternate solutions for obsolete components and work with engineering for approval.
  • Maintain accurate purchasing data in ERP systems and ensure compliance with company policies.
  • Support hazardous waste handling requirements in work areas.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Strong experience in supply chain or supplier management.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and flow charts.
  • Professional experience with MRP/ERP systems.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience purchasing electrical commodities

Education & Experience

  • High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, or related field preferred.
  • 1-3 years of purchasing or supply chain experience in a manufacturing environment.
