Category Manager, Indirect
Job Summary
A global technology leader is seeking a Category Manager, Indirect to lead strategic sourcing and supplier management initiatives across indirect spend categories. Based at the corporate headquarters in Pittsburgh, PA, this role is instrumental in optimizing procurement operations, driving cost efficiencies, and supporting enterprise-wide sourcing strategies across a diverse range of business functions.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute global category strategies informed by market intelligence, business needs, and supplier capabilities.
- Conduct spend analysis, market assessments, and risk evaluations to identify optimal sourcing solutions.
- Lead supplier selection and complex negotiations to secure favorable commercial terms and service levels.
- Manage supplier performance across quality, cost, delivery, and responsiveness metrics.
- Serve as an escalation point for non-strategic suppliers through broader procurement teams.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to align sourcing strategies with organizational requirements.
- Facilitate cross-functional sourcing teams and lead strategic sourcing events from RFI through implementation.
- Oversee contract development, execution, and lifecycle management.
- Ensure compliance with internal policies, legal standards, and ethical sourcing practices.
- Track and report category performance metrics including cost savings, supplier performance, and risk mitigation.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, or related field (MBA preferred).
- 5+ years of strategic sourcing or procurement experience in a global environment.
- Proven success in category management, supplier negotiations, and cross-functional leadership.
- Strong analytical, financial modeling, and project management skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities.
- Experience with sourcing tools and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Ariba, Coupa).
- Must be a U.S. Person; no sponsorship or relocation offered.
- Compliance with Controlled Goods Program (CGP) required.
