Summary:
A leading AI cloud infrastructure company is seeking two experienced Category Managers to lead procurement and supply chain planning for critical mechanical and electrical systems supporting high-performance data center build-outs. These roles are pivotal in ensuring speed, scalability, and resilience across infrastructure projects serving top-tier enterprise and government clients.
As a Category Manager, you will drive strategic sourcing, supplier management, and master scheduling for either mechanical or electrical categories. You'll collaborate cross-functionally with Engineering, Construction, Finance, and Operations to ensure timely delivery and installation of Owner-Furnished Contractor Installed (OFCI) equipment.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute sourcing strategies for:
- Mechanical: chillers, CRAHs, fan walls, CDUs, HVAC systems.
- Electrical: medium-voltage switchgear, UPS systems, PDUs, generators, transformers.
- Lead competitive sourcing events, supplier negotiations, and contract management.
- Align specifications with project requirements and supplier capabilities.
- Implement dual-sourcing and risk mitigation strategies.
- Oversee Master Production Schedules (MPS) and demand forecasting.
- Optimize supply chain speed and resilience over cost alone.
- Manage logistics for shipping, rigging, and storage of major equipment.
- Ensure data integrity across ERP and APS systems.
- Develop playbooks, training materials, and process documentation.
- Lead digital transformation initiatives in procurement workflows.
- Monitor supplier KPIs, SLAs, and performance reviews.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Engineering (Mechanical or Electrical), Business, or related field (Master's preferred).
- 3+ years of experience in procurement or inventory management within cloud data centers or related infrastructure.
- Proven success managing high-value contracts (>$50M) and multi-vendor strategies.
- Strong understanding of MEP categories and data center construction.
- Hands-on experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, Netsuite) and APS tools.
- Excellent cross-functional collaboration and stakeholder management skills.
- Willingness to travel to data center sites, vendor facilities, and industry events.
