Continuous Improvement Engineer
Position Summary
We are seeking a Continuous Improvement Engineer to drive various initiatives within a high-volume food & beverage manufacturing facility. This role will lead projects focused on improving safety, quality, throughput, yield, and overall plant performance while partnering closely with Operations, Maintenance, and Quality teams. The ideal candidate is a hands-on manufacturing professional with a passion for process optimization, problem-solving, and building a culture of continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead Lean and Six Sigma initiatives focused on improving OEE, throughput, yield, capacity, quality, and cost performance
- Identify, prioritize, and manage a pipeline of continuous improvement projects aligned with business objectives
- Facilitate root cause analysis and implement sustainable corrective actions to reduce process variability and eliminate waste
- Provide technical support to production and maintenance teams to improve equipment and process performance
- Conduct time studies, process evaluations, and performance analyses to identify optimization opportunities
- Develop and implement standard work and best practices to support operational consistency
- Train and coach plant personnel on Lean Manufacturing, problem-solving methodologies, and continuous improvement tools
- Collaborate with Operations, Quality, Engineering, Maintenance, and R&D teams to drive plant-wide improvements
- Utilize operational metrics and performance data to support decision-making and project execution
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Industrial, Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical, Manufacturing, or related discipline)
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in Continuous Improvement, Manufacturing Engineering, Process Engineering, Operational Excellence, or a related field
- Demonstrated success leading measurable Lean, Six Sigma, or process improvement initiatives
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, industrial engineering principles, and process optimization techniques
- Experience with Lean Manufacturing, DMAIC, Kaizen, Root Cause Analysis, Value Stream Mapping, and other CI methodologies
- Ability to interpret and apply P&IDs, Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs), and manufacturing equipment layouts
- Strong analytical, project management, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Experience within food, beverage, consumer packaged goods (CPG), or other high-volume manufacturing environments is preferred
- Lean and/or Six Sigma certification is a plus
