Continuous Improvement Lead

Position Summary

We are looking for a hands-on Continuous Improvement (CI) Lead to drive operational excellence across our manufacturing facility. This role is responsible for identifying, planning, and executing improvement initiatives that enhance productivity, reduce waste, and support long-term strategic goals. The CI Lead will collaborate with cross-functional teams, mentor staff in lean methodologies, and help build a culture of continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and support improvement projects focused on increasing manufacturing efficiency and reducing operational waste.
  • Facilitate cross-functional planning sessions and execute CI initiatives aligned with business priorities.
  • Analyze labor standards, equipment utilization, and process flows to identify improvement opportunities.
  • Train and mentor team members in lean tools and methodologies (e.g., Kaizen, MUDA analysis, 5S).
  • Track and report on project performance and contribution to annual operating goals.
  • Support design and operational improvement efforts using value analysis/value engineering (VA/VE), design for manufacturability (DFM), and design for assembly (DFA) principles.
  • Assist in developing and sustaining a lean production system across the facility.
  • Build business cases for capital projects and support implementation.
  • Collaborate with site leadership, quality, and engineering teams to ensure alignment and execution.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in manufacturing or industrial engineering roles.
  • Proven track record leading CI or Kaizen projects with measurable results.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365; experience with tools like AutoCAD, TimerPro, or ProPlanner is a plus.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing processes such as machining, forging, painting, or assembly is preferred.
  • Ability to lead small project teams and influence change across departments.
  • Experience with project management and lean manufacturing systems is a plus.

Preferred Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Industrial Technology, or a related technical field.

Work Environment

  • Primarily based in a manufacturing environment with exposure to shop floor conditions.
  • May involve standing, walking, and working in dusty or noisy areas.
  • Occasional travel may be required to support multi-site initiatives.
