Director of Sales Food and Beverage Packaging Distribution

Atlanta, GA

Salary: 150k-175k base plus commission, bonus

Company Summary: Our client is a mid-sized packaging and packaging supply distributor based out of the Southeast. This full service distributor has over 7 sites throughout the US and sells packaging, corrugate, stretch tapes and equipment to the aerospace, agricultural, appliances/furniture, apparel, auto, ecommerce, pharma and food and beverage industries. The Director of Sales will lead the sales efforts for the food and beverage space throughout the Southeast. This position will drive brand awareness, channel revenue, profitability and growth across the assigned region. This role will partner with sales leaders to optimize sales in line with brand and distribution targets and strategies.

The Director of Sales has these key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the regional sales leader, accountable for surpassing growth targets, revenue goals, customer satisfaction, and team performance metrics.
  • Recruit, mentor, and develop a high-performing sales team with a track record of success.
  • Lead a team of Account Executives to build strong customer relationships and deliver measurable business value.
  • Provide hands-on coaching in sales strategy, pipeline development, deal execution, and career growth.
  • Leverage industry knowledge and business insight to help the team identify and close high-margin opportunities.
  • Cultivate and maintain a strong vendor network to support sales initiatives.
  • Achieve both personal and team sales goals, including profitability, outreach activity, and other KPIs.
  • Navigate and close complex sales cycles involving executive-level stakeholders.

The Director of Sales should have the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience: minimum of five years in sales within the packaging or industrial sector, plus five years in a sales leadership role.
  • Proven success in B2B sales, ideally in packaging or a related industrial environment.
  • Deep understanding of solution-based selling and the full sales cycle.
  • Strong interpersonal and influencing skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels, including C-suite.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to assess market trends, track performance, and evaluate deal profitability.
  • Financial literacy and business acumen.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Outlook, Word, and Excel.
