Job Title: Supply Chain Manager - Sourcing & NPI

Location: Manassas, VA


About the Role

Our client is seeking a Supply Chain Manager to lead sourcing strategies, manage New Product Introduction (NPI) activities, and establish scalable supply chain processes for next-generation aerospace products. This role is critical in ensuring timely procurement of components, building strong supplier relationships, and supporting the transition from prototype to full-scale production.


Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Sourcing

    • Develop and execute sourcing strategies for critical components, including hybrid-electric propulsion systems, avionics, and structural assemblies.
    • Identify, qualify, and negotiate with suppliers to ensure cost, quality, and delivery targets are met.
    • Implement risk management practices for supplier performance and continuity.
  • New Product Introduction (NPI)

    • Collaborate with engineering and program management teams to align supply chain readiness with product development milestones.
    • Drive supplier engagement during design phases to optimize manufacturability and cost.
    • Manage procurement for prototype builds and early production runs.
  • Process Development

    • Establish scalable supply chain processes, including demand planning, inventory control, and procurement workflows.
    • Implement ERP/MRP systems and ensure data integrity for accurate material planning.
    • Define KPIs and reporting structures for supply chain performance.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration

    • Work closely with engineering, quality, and operations teams to resolve technical and logistical challenges.
    • Support compliance with aerospace industry standards and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, or related field; MBA or APICS certification preferred.
  • 7+ years of experience in supply chain management within aerospace, automotive, or advanced manufacturing sectors.
  • Proven track record in sourcing complex components and managing NPI programs.
  • Strong negotiation, analytical, and project management skills.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems and lean manufacturing principles.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with hybrid-electric or advanced propulsion technologies.
  • Knowledge of FAA Part 23 certification requirements and aerospace quality standards.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, startup-like environment.
