Engineering Manager for Pharma Processing Machinery (M/F/D)

Join a growing engineering site near Zurich and help shape the next generation of specialised pharmaceutical machinery. As the Manager Engineering, you will lead a multidisciplinary team and play a key strategic role in delivering innovative fill/finish solutions for international customers.

Your Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop an interdisciplinary engineering team (mechanical, electrical, and automation), ensuring effective allocation of resources and high team performance.
  • Oversee the technical execution of global customer projects in the field of pharmaceutical fill/finish equipment-including filling, capping, cleaning systems, and integration with isolator technology.
  • Drive the creation of mechatronic concepts during the proposal and project phases, balancing customer needs, regulatory requirements, and commercial considerations.
  • Manage and implement development and customer-specific projects to meet quality, schedule, and budget targets, working closely with project management, production, quality assurance, and service teams.
  • Collaborate with international partners, suppliers, and customers to align on technical requirements and project objectives.
  • Identify and implement continuous improvement measures in coordination with other engineering locations and central functions.
  • Advance engineering standards, processes, and tools across the organisation.
  • Provide technical support for customer consultations as well as for FAT/SAT activities worldwide.

What You Bring

  • A degree in mechanical engineering, mechatronics, automation technology, or a comparable field.
  • 10+ years of experience in special-purpose machine construction, ideally within the pharmaceutical sector.
  • At least 5 years of leadership experience in a technical environment.
  • Strong expertise in designing, implementing, modularising, and standardising mechatronic systems in a GMP-regulated setting, including qualification and validation processes.
  • High intercultural competence and strong communication skills in international environments.
  • Experience with budget planning and cost management in technical organisations.
  • Background in change management for technical systems and processes.
  • Willingness to travel internationally for limited periods (e.g., acceptance tests, trade shows, customer meetings).
  • Excellent command of German and English (minimum C1 level).
