Fleet Manager
One of our clients in the Food Distribution space is looking for an experienced Fleet Manager to oversee their fleet out of their Albany, NY facility. This person will be a pivotal asset to the team and have heavy collaboration across different departments including Operations, Warehouse, Transportation, Safety, QA, and HR.
Location: Albany, NY (Relocation Assistance Available)
Compensation: $100,000-$130,000 + bonus
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee all fleet maintenance operations, ensuring safe, reliable, and cost‑effective performance of all vehicles and equipment, including preventive maintenance and compliance programs.
- Manage the onsite diesel repair shop, providing leadership and direction to technicians and mechanics while ensuring high-quality workmanship, productivity, and safety standards.
- Negotiate and manage vendor contracts for outsourced repairs, parts, and specialized services to optimize cost, turnaround time, and service quality.
- Support future facility and capital project responsibilities, including learning and assisting with facility CapEx planning, ammonia refrigeration safety and maintenance, and other facility-related operations as capabilities expand.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of progressive fleet management experience, including oversight of vehicle acquisition, maintenance programs, compliance, and vendor management.
- Proven leadership capabilities, with demonstrated success leading large operational teams and managing capital or facility expansion projects from planning through execution.
- Willingness to complete required Ammonia Refrigeration training and obtain certification, with a strong commitment to safety, regulatory compliance, and continuous learning.
