Global OPEX Manager (m/w/d)

We are looking for an experienced Global OPEX Manager for a renowned packaging company who will be responsible for the development and implementation of the global opex strategy. This role offers the opportunity to build an OPEX strategy from scratch as the company is still at the beginning of the lean journey.

Location: Multiple international locations in Europe possible

Estimated Travel: 50%+

Role Overview: Management of projects related to the definition, deployment, and assessment of initiatives related to Operational Excellence. This role involves supporting the creation of lean standards, auditing, assessing workbooks, equipment standards, and reporting the status of various plants. Note: Travel up to 50% is required in the next couple of months.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support and follow up on the definition of various projects related to different initiatives of Operational Excellence.
  • Creation and implementation of Operational Excellence workbooks.
  • Support in audits to assess the Operational Excellence level of plants.
  • Deploy lean manufacturing and Operational Excellence mentality.
  • Create materials for lean methodology deployment.
  • Develop tracking systems for projects.
  • Follow up on the status of plants in terms of Operational Excellence.
  • Support the creation of technical standards.
  • Coach teams in implementing various initiatives with a strong focus on operational excellence and technical standards.
  • Identify opportunities to improve and make the company more competitive.
  • Collaborate closely with different regions to identify best practices and ensure proper communication across locations/sites.
  • Work closely with other functions such as IT, Continuous Improvement, Innovation, Production, and Quality.
  • Track savings from Operational Excellence initiatives.
  • Standardize and harmonize activities across locations.
  • Support benchmarking and workshops by collecting and analyzing data to identify and implement improvements.
  • Ensure compliance with company management systems (e.g., Project, Quality, Environmental, Health & Safety Regulations) and keep them up to date.
  • Act according to the company's business ethics.

Education & Training:

  • Graduated engineer.
  • Lean/6Sigma certification or equivalent.
  • Fluent in English.
  • Advanced MS Office and Power BI skills.

Experience:

  • Several years of experience in developing and implementing Lean/6Sigma methodologies.
  • International project experience.
  • Experience in the development of lean systems from scratch
  • Several years in manufacturing environments
  • Practical experience in series/mass production environments
