Health & Safety Officer

DSJ Global is seeking a dedicated and proactive Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) Engineer to join our team. This role is critical in fostering a safe, healthy, and environmentally responsible workplace. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining HSE programs that ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and promote a culture of safety and sustainability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and monitor environmental health and safety programs to ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Conduct risk assessments and implement preventive measures to mitigate hazards.
  • Lead investigations of incidents and accidents, identify root causes, and recommend corrective actions.
  • Stay current with HSE regulations, standards, and best practices.
  • Deliver training sessions on safety procedures, emergency response, and environmental policies.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop sustainable solutions and reduce environmental impact.
  • Oversee waste management initiatives, including recycling, disposal, and reduction strategies.
  • Prepare and submit compliance reports and documentation to regulatory agencies.
  • Monitor workplace conditions to ensure adherence to health and safety standards.

Qualifications

  • Required: Bachelor's degree in Health & Safety, Environmental Engineering, Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, or a related field.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and collaborate across departments to identify and mitigate safety risks.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to drive operational improvements and ensure full compliance.
  • Effective leadership and teamwork capabilities.
  • Experience managing projects from initiation through completion.
  • Excellent communication skills-both written and verbal-with strong interpersonal and analytical abilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to build rapport and promote a culture of accountability and zero-incident mindset.
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills.
