Maintenance Planner
Overview
DSJ Global is partnered with a leading paper manufacturing organization that is seeking a Maintenance Planner to support the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of a large-scale production facility. This position plays a critical role in planning and coordinating maintenance activities, improving equipment reliability, and supporting operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities
- Plan and schedule preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities for manufacturing equipment and systems.
- Work closely with operations, maintenance, engineering, and safety teams to prioritize maintenance work.
- Develop detailed job plans, including labor requirements, materials, tools, and procedures.
- Support equipment reliability initiatives by utilizing maintenance best practices and available maintenance data.
- Ensure safety requirements are incorporated into all maintenance planning activities.
- Assist in driving improvements related to operational efficiency, cost reduction, and equipment performance.
- Review and manage maintenance work order backlogs.
- Develop maintenance schedules and coordinate planned maintenance activities.
- Maintain and update equipment bills of materials (BOMs) and maintenance records as needed.
- Support plant outage and shutdown planning efforts.
- Participate in weekly and daily maintenance scheduling meetings.
- Coordinate with external contractors and vendors when required.
- Assist maintenance leadership with work order execution and planning support.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Industrial Technology, Maintenance Management, or a related field preferred.
- Strong mechanical and electrical skills
- Equivalent maintenance planning, maintenance supervision, or industrial maintenance experience will be considered.
- Strong understanding of preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
- Strong organizational and prioritization skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- Proven problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
- Ability to work effectively with both hourly and salaried employees across multiple departments.
Preferred Experience
- Maintenance planning or scheduling experience in a paper mill, pulp mill, converting facility, or other continuous manufacturing environment.
- Experience coordinating maintenance shutdowns and outages.
- Knowledge of mechanical equipment, rotating assets, pumps, conveyors, motors, and process systems.
- Familiarity with reliability-centered maintenance and continuous improvement initiatives.
Work Environment
- Manufacturing environment with regular exposure to industrial equipment and machinery.
- May involve exposure to noise, heat, humidity, dust, vibration, and moving mechanical equipment.
- Occasional lifting, climbing, and extended periods of walking throughout the facility may be required.
