Maintenance Technician

The Maintenance Technician plays a critical role in sustaining production efficiency and product quality by ensuring the optimal performance of manufacturing equipment and systems.


Key Responsibilities

  • Perform independent maintenance and repairs on GMP utilities and production equipment in accordance with established procedures.
  • Execute preventive maintenance tasks aligned with production schedules to minimize disruption.
  • Monitor and update spare parts inventory to ensure availability.
  • Adhere strictly to operational protocols and regulatory guidelines.
  • Collaborate with engineering, technical, and manufacturing teams to support business objectives and customer requirements.
  • Accurately document all maintenance activities, including deviations and anomalies, using designated reporting systems.
  • Uphold aseptic processing standards and minimize downtime during active production batches.
  • Support equipment setup, product changeovers, and start-up processes.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot pharmaceutical manufacturing equipment.
  • Conduct scheduled preventive maintenance and maintain detailed service records.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations.
  • Communicate effectively regarding maintenance activities and equipment status.
  • Provide training and guidance to peers on mechanical maintenance procedures.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support operational needs.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Proficient in reading wiring diagrams and P&ID schematics.
  • Foundational knowledge of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and related systems.
  • Familiarity with lockout/tagout safety procedures.
  • Strong understanding of current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP).
  • Competent in using computer systems and maintenance software.
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and compliance.
  • Willingness to work flexible shifts, including nights and weekends.
  • Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs. without assistance.
  • Experience with PLCs and/or Distributed Control Systems is a plus.
  • Prior exposure to pharmaceutical filling operations is advantageous.
  • Preferred experience with particle monitoring systems, air quality systems, pneumatic/hydraulic systems, vacuum systems, and peristaltic pumps.
