Master Scheduler
ABOUT THE JOB
We are seeking a detail-oriented and strategic Master Scheduler to join our automotive manufacturing team. This role is critical in driving efficient production operations through effective scheduling, materials planning, and cross-functional coordination. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in Master Production Scheduling (MPS), Material Requirements Planning (MRP), and Production Planning, with a proven track record in a high-volume manufacturing environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and maintain a Master Production Schedule based on customer demand, forecast, inventory levels, and capacity constraints.
- Coordinate with Sales, Operations, Procurement, and Engineering to support the S&OP process and ensure alignment between demand and supply.
- Manage and optimize MRP parameters (lead times, lot sizes, reorder points) to ensure efficient production and procurement planning.
- Monitor and adjust schedules as needed to address changes in demand, supply chain disruptions, or capacity constraints.
- Maintain optimal safety stock and inventory levels to meet service level targets while minimizing excess and obsolescence.
- Identify and escalate potential supply-demand mismatches and propose corrective actions.
- Track performance metrics such as schedule adherence, on-time delivery, and inventory turnover.
- Collaborate with procurement and production teams to ensure timely availability of materials and components.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives related to planning systems, tools, and processes.
- Provide insights and reports to support executive decision-making regarding production and inventory strategies.
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
- 2-5 years of experience in production planning, master scheduling, or materials management, preferably in the automotive or other high-volume manufacturing industry
- Strong knowledge of MRP/ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Plex, Infor, etc.).
- Demonstrated experience supporting and facilitating S&OP processes.
- Supervisory experience is a plus
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and data analysis tools.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
