Material Planner
Our client is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Material Planner to oversee the end-to-end planning and procurement of materials and components essential for meeting production schedules. This role is critical to ensuring timely product delivery, customer satisfaction, and operational efficiency.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Material Coordination & Procurement
- Manage forecasting, procurement, and supply tracking for designated suppliers and material categories to ensure uninterrupted production flow.
- Maintain consistent communication with vendors and internal teams to support seamless operations.
- Identify opportunities to enhance material delivery performance while optimizing total cost of ownership.
- Collaborate with sourcing and production teams to implement cost-saving and inventory management initiatives.
- Leverage data-driven insights to monitor supplier performance and drive continuous improvement.
Production & Operations Support
- Work closely with manufacturing and inventory teams to guarantee material readiness and resolve supply-related challenges swiftly.
- Partner with quality assurance to support supplier development and ensure timely resolution of quality issues.
Cross-Functional Leadership & Communication
- Foster strong collaboration across departments to support process improvements and operational excellence.
- Actively engage with suppliers, logistics providers, and other stakeholders to anticipate and mitigate potential supply disruptions.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in supply chain, business, engineering, finance, or a related discipline.
- Preferred 2 years' experience in material planning, manufacturing, or supply chain operations.
- Proficiency in MS Excel and familiarity with MRP/ERP systems and inventory control practices.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence and drive results across teams.
