Merchandise Planning Manager

We are seeking a Merchandising Planning Manager to lead strategic planning and forecasting initiatives across our product portfolio. This role is pivotal in driving data-informed decisions that maximize margin, optimize product assortment, and support scalable growth. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment and brings a strong analytical foundation with a collaborative mindset.

Key Responsibilities

Forecasting & Financial Planning

  • Develop and maintain SKU-level financial models incorporating historical trends, market conditions, and strategic goals.
  • Lead reforecasting cycles and scenario planning to support supply chain and sales execution.
  • Build financial plans for new business initiatives, including new marketplaces and product categories.

Product & Assortment Strategy

  • Analyze product performance to recommend SKU expansions or rationalizations.
  • Identify opportunities for new product development based on data-driven insights.

Market Research & Analytics

  • Conduct velocity, seasonality, and performance analyses to improve forecast accuracy.
  • Leverage third-party tools to evaluate new category or marketplace entry.

Reporting & Communication

  • Own the development of monthly business review presentations for executive leadership.
  • Produce ad-hoc and recurring reports to support cross-functional decision-making.
  • Collaborate with FP&A and Strategy teams to align on financial insights.

Team & Process Leadership

  • Manage and mentor offshore team members to ensure high-quality output and process adherence.
  • Lead initiatives to improve planning infrastructure, documentation, and system adoption (e.g., Toolio).
  • Support onboarding of new technologies and tools to enhance team capabilities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or related field.
  • 2-5 years of experience in financial planning, investment banking, consulting, or merchandising.
  • Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills; experience with NetSuite, Power BI, and Toolio preferred.
  • Experience with Amazon and Walmart marketplaces is a plus.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a high attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and presentation abilities.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
