About the Opportunity
We are partnering with a globally established freight forwarding leader to recruit an experienced Ocean Freight Product Manager for their Mediterranean operations. This strategic role is critical to our client's success in expanding market presence and strengthening carrier partnerships across Italy and Spain.
As the Ocean Freight Product Manager, you will be responsible for developing competitive ocean freight products, managing profitability, and ensuring operational excellence. You will work closely with our client's internal teams and external partners to deliver tailored solutions that meet customer needs while maintaining compliance and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
Product Development & Strategy:
- Design and implement ocean freight products tailored to the Mediterranean market.
- Monitor industry trends and competitor activities to ensure market-leading solutions.
Carrier Relationship Management:
- Build and maintain strong partnerships with ocean carriers to secure competitive rates and reliable capacity.
- Negotiate contracts and service agreements to optimise cost and performance.
Operational Excellence:
- Collaborate with regional and global teams to ensure smooth execution of ocean freight services.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance service quality and customer satisfaction.
Commercial Support:
- Work closely with sales teams to provide product expertise and support business development efforts.
- Develop pricing strategies and promotional plans to increase market share.
Skills and Expertise
Freight Forwarding Expertise:
- Proven experience in ocean freight and freight forwarding, with a deep understanding of international shipping regulations and practices.
P&L Management:
- Strong financial acumen and experience managing budgets and profitability.
Commercial Logistics Knowledge:
- Ability to design and implement logistics solutions that optimize network operations and service delivery.
Negotiation & Communication Skills:
