Operation Manager - Packaging
Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Packaging Manager with deep experience supporting premium fashion brands, particularly within the travel amenities and packaging solutions sector. The ideal candidate brings a strong blend of creativity, technical packaging expertise, supplier management capability, and a keen understanding of brand-driven innovation.
Key Responsibilities
1. Brand Partnership & Requirements Gathering
- Act as the primary liaison with innovation teams from premium fashion brands, ensuring a thorough understanding of project objectives, aesthetic expectations, sustainability goals, and functional requirements.
- Translate conceptual brand ideas into clear technical packaging specifications and development briefs.
- Provide strategic input on materials, finishes, and packaging formats aligned with brand identity and market trends.
2. Packaging Development & Innovation
- Lead end-to-end development of travel amenity packaging, from ideation and prototyping to final production.
- Explore and recommend innovative materials, designs, and structural solutions that elevate customer experience.
- Ensure packaging meets brand sustainability commitments, recyclability standards, and regulatory compliance.
3. Supplier & Manufacturing Partner Management
- Manage relationships with a global network of packaging suppliers, converters, material vendors, and manufacturers.
- Negotiate pricing, lead times, and production timelines while maintaining premium-quality standards.
- Conduct regular supplier performance reviews, audits, and technical capability assessments.
- Resolve production challenges proactively, ensuring timely delivery and consistent quality across all components.
4. Project Management
- Oversee multiple concurrent packaging projects with strict timelines and high brand expectations.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with design, quality, procurement, logistics, and operations teams.
- Maintain accurate documentation, including specifications, artwork approvals, test reports, and quality guidelines.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Packaging Engineering, Industrial Design, Supply Chain, or related fields
- 5-8 years of experience in luxury or premium packaging within fashion and consumer goods, travel retail, or lifestyle sectors.
- Strong knowledge of packaging materials, printing techniques, and finishing processes.
- Proven track record in supplier management, sourcing, and global manufacturing oversight.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, particularly when working with brand teams.
- Deep appreciation for aesthetics, craftsmanship, and luxury brand standards.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple high-pressure projects.
- Fluency of speaking in English, Cantonese and Mandarin Chinese is a must.
