Position Summary:

DSJ Global is looking for a Plant Manager responsible for leading the day-to-day operations and capital project execution at the plant. This role ensures operational excellence through a strong focus on safety, reliability, and efficiency. By consolidating the responsibilities of five key roles-RNG Manager, Digester Manager, Construction Manager, Operations Manager, and Maintenance Manager-this position enables the General Manager to concentrate on strategic growth and commercial initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Direct daily operations across receiving, digestion, gas upgrading, logistics, and depackaging.
  • Resolve operational issues promptly and implement preventive measures.
  • Drive process optimization to meet production targets while minimizing downtime and waste.
  • Enforce strict adherence to safety protocols and regulatory standards.
  • Lead safety training initiatives and foster a culture of continuous safety improvement.
  • Ensure alignment with Opal's core safety values.
  • Oversee maintenance planning, execution, and equipment upgrades.
  • Implement predictive maintenance strategies and manage CMMS for accurate tracking.
  • Develop a robust spare parts program to reduce downtime and improve reliability.
  • Manage construction-related CapEx projects, including new infrastructure (e.g., depackaging systems, digesters).
  • Coordinate contractor activities, project timelines, and safety compliance.
  • Execute the feedstock plan to meet volume and quality targets.
  • Enhance receiving efficiency and maintain high standards for feedstock quality.
  • Lead training programs and mentorship to build team capability and performance.
  • Monitor individual performance and support professional development.
  • Prepare and present operational reports to senior leadership.
  • Lead daily operations meetings and ensure clear communication across teams.
  • Monitor operational expenditures and ensure alignment with budgetary goals.
  • Identify and implement opportunities for process improvement using Lean and Kaizen methodologies.

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, or Automation Engineering.
  • Minimum 10 years in project and operations management, including oversight of CapEx projects exceeding $1M.
  • Deep understanding of OSHA standards and industrial safety practices.
  • Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams of engineers and technicians.
  • Strong knowledge of automation, process control, and equipment maintenance.
  • Demonstrated success in driving operational efficiency and productivity.
