Job Title: Plant Manager
Position Summary:
The Plant Manager is responsible for leading all aspects of plant operations, including safety, quality, production, and cost performance. This role requires a hands-on leader who can drive continuous improvement, develop high-performing teams, and ensure operational excellence in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead daily operations of the manufacturing facility, ensuring alignment with company goals.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean and Six Sigma methodologies.
- Oversee production processes, with a strong emphasis on blow molding operations.
- Ensure compliance with GMP, sanitation standards, and FDA/SQF requirements.
- Manage budgets, cost controls, and capital equipment planning.
- Hire, train, and develop plant personnel; conduct performance evaluations and manage team structure.
- Maintain facility security, equipment maintenance, and inventory control systems.
- Monitor production schedules and adjust resources to meet delivery timelines.
- Implement quality assurance systems and ensure regulatory compliance.
- Participate in cross-functional meetings and financial reviews.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
- Minimum 5 years of manufacturing experience, including 2+ years in beverage, food, or liquid consumer products.
- Proven experience in blow molding production environments.
- Strong background in maintenance and equipment (e.g., fillers, labelers, palletizers, conveyors).
- Previous supervisory experience with excellent leadership and communication skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office and manufacturing software systems.
- Ability to work flexible hours and manage multiple shifts.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with sanitation protocols and developing cleaning procedures.
- Financial acumen with the ability to analyze metrics and capital projects.
- Familiarity with HACCP, FSMA, GFSI standards.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.
- Ability to manage multiple projects independently in a fast-paced environment.
Physical Requirements:
- Sitting: ~50% | Standing: ~20% | Walking: ~30%
- Occasional lifting (up to 40 lbs), bending, pushing/pulling
- Frequent verbal and written communication, hearing, and visual acuity
