Principal Scientist, R&D & Technical Services
As the Principal R&D Scientist, you will be at the forefront of innovation, leading strategic research initiatives and driving the development of new cheese and dairy products. You will collaborate cross-functionally with marketing, operations, quality, and regulatory teams to bring cutting-edge, consumer-driven solutions to market. This role requires deep technical expertise, creativity, and a strong understanding of dairy science and food technology.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design, development, and commercialization of new cheese and dairy products, from concept to launch.
- Drive scientific research in dairy fermentation, enzymology, and ingredient functionality to support innovation and product improvement.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align R&D efforts with business goals and market trends.
- Serve as a technical expert in cheese processing, formulation, and sensory evaluation.
- Identify and evaluate new technologies, ingredients, and processes to enhance product quality, shelf life, and sustainability.
- Mentor and guide junior scientists and technologists within the R&D team.
- Manage pilot plant trials and scale-up activities in coordination with manufacturing teams.
- Ensure compliance with food safety, regulatory, and labeling requirements.
- Represent the company at industry conferences, technical forums, and with external partners.
Qualifications
- Ph.D. in Food Science, Dairy Science, Microbiology, or related field (Master's with extensive experience may be considered).
- Minimum 10 years of experience in dairy product development, with a strong focus on cheese.
- Proven track record of successful product launches and innovation leadership.
- Deep knowledge of dairy chemistry, microbiology, and processing technologies.
- Experience with pilot plant operations, scale-up, and commercialization.
