The Role

We are partnering with a leading retailer to appoint a Procurement Manager - Indirects to take ownership of a broad and business-critical indirect spend portfolio. This role sits at the intersection of commercial delivery and stakeholder engagement, with a clear mandate to drive value, introduce structure, and elevate procurement's impact across the organisation.

You will be responsible for developing and delivering category strategies across multiple indirect spend areas, partnering closely with senior stakeholders to improve cost, service, and supplier performance while supporting wider transformation and growth initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own and manage a diverse Indirect Procurement spend portfolio (e.g. Marketing, Professional Services, IT, FM, HR, Logistics, Corporate Services).
  • Develop and execute category strategies aligned to business objectives, cost efficiency, and risk mitigation.
  • Lead end‑to‑end sourcing activity: supplier selection, negotiation, contracting, and implementation.
  • Act as a trusted business partner to senior stakeholders, influencing spend decisions and driving compliance.
  • Deliver measurable value through cost savings, demand management, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Lead supplier relationship management activities, driving performance, innovation, and sustainability.
  • Support procurement transformation initiatives including process optimisation, governance, and policy adherence.
  • Use data and insight to identify opportunities, track savings, and report on procurement performance.

Candidate Profile

  • Proven experience in Indirect Procurement within a retail, FMCG, consumer, or complex multi-site environment.
  • Strong track record of delivering commercial outcomes across multiple indirect categories.
  • Confident stakeholder manager, able to influence at senior leadership level.
  • Strong negotiation, sourcing, and commercial contract management skills.
  • Experience working in fast-paced, change-oriented organisations.
  • Analytical, structured, and comfortable working with spend data and dashboards.
  • MCIPS or equivalent professional qualification preferred.
