Product Design Engineer

A Product Design Engineer is needed to join a globally recognized kitchen appliance company that has thrived in the consumer goods industry for about 40 years. This position is based out of Greenwood, Mississippi.

Position Overview:

The Product Design Engineer works as part of a process and product improvement/inception unit, focusing on product and process development by using engineering principles to increase the efficiency and value of the business, while utilizing cost effective mechanisms and improving overall product performance, reliability, and safety.

Responsibilities:

  • Apply engineering principles and 3D CAD tools to develop optimized product designs, including prototyping and addressing customer inquiries.
  • Support project scheduling, manage risks and issues, and ensure alignment across departments to meet deliverables within budget and timeline.
  • Work closely with various teams to maintain project scope, escalate concerns, and communicate status updates to all stakeholders.
  • Use methodologies like Root Cause Analysis and LEAN/Six Sigma to identify inefficiencies, implement changes, and document improvements in cost, quality, and efficiency.
  • Analyze product applications, investigate field problems, and provide solutions that enhance product performance and customer satisfaction.

Requirements:

  • Degree in Engineering or related field (BS/MS).
  • 2-5 years of design experience in high volume manufacturing.
  • Proficient in 3D CAD/PLM systems; CATIA/SolidWorks preferred.
  • Skilled in project management, data analysis, and MS Office tools.
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills; team-oriented and adaptable.
