Production Manager

Our client, an ingredients leader in the food manufacturing space, is seeking an experienced Production Manager to lead daily manufacturing operations within a fast‑paced food production environment. This role is responsible for overseeing staffing, workflow, safety, quality, and performance across all production areas. The ideal candidate brings strong leadership skills, deep knowledge of food manufacturing standards, and a continuous improvement mindset. The Production Manager will partner closely with Quality, Maintenance, Supply Chain, and Engineering teams to ensure operational excellence and consistent execution against production goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and optimize production workflows, routings, and scheduling within the ERP/MES system.
  • Review production transactions for accuracy (labor entries, material usage, downtime, batch data).
  • Analyze ERP-generated performance data and recommend system or process improvements.
  • Coordinate with Supply Chain to ensure alignment of production plans, inventory accuracy, and material availability.
  • Partner with Quality to maintain digital compliance records, traceability data, and batch documentation.
  • Work with Maintenance to ensure equipment data, downtime tracking, and preventive maintenance records are accurately maintained in the system.
  • Provide ERP/MES training, troubleshooting, and process guidance for production supervisors and team members.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on digital workflows, reporting automation, and data integrity.
  • Act as the primary liaison between Production, IT/Systems, Quality, Supply Chain, and Maintenance for system-related updates, issues, and priorities.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Operations, Supply Chain, Engineering, Food Science, or a related field; or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in food manufacturing industry required.
  • At least 3 years of supervisory/leadership required.
  • Strong understanding of ERP/MES systems (SAP, Plex, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar).
  • Knowledge of GMPs, HACCP, FSMA, and food safety/quality compliance standards.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze data, troubleshoot system issues, and implement process improvements.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to support cross-functional teams.
  • Experience leading ERP/MES implementations or upgrades.
  • Familiarity with production reporting, dashboards, and KPI tracking.
  • Lean/Continuous Improvement or root-cause problem-solving experience.
